JAMES is a mid-twenties Ute Indian who is very handsome and the best skier on the mountain, which makes him a super stud in Aspen circles. He is also the healthiest human being of our group. He teaches yoga and meditation at Ohm Studios and is also on the ski patrol. He does not have the money and fame nor the drive to attain them of any of the other characters but has found happiness in this lifetime and is wise beyond his years. He enjoys his friends without being condescending and will gladly help with advice when asked. Though he knows Ducky’s emotional growth has been miniscule, he still has agreed to be his mentor, and Walter often comes to him for advice. Women throw themselves at him, but he is not into indiscriminate sex. It might be wise for guys on the make to stand by James and try to catch his cast-offs.
